THE ERVING CULTURAL COUNCIL IS CURRENTLY SEEKING ONE NEW MEMBER.
Write a letter of interest to the Board of Selectmen, 12 East Main Street if interested.
The Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) is a state agency that promotes excellence, access, education, and diversity in the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences to improve the quality of life for all Massachusetts residents and contribute to the economic vitality of our communities.
The Council pursues this mission through a combination of grant programs, partnerships, and services for nonprofit cultural organizations, schools, communities, and artists.
WHAT DOES THE ERVING CULTURAL COUNCIL DO? The Council reviews all of the submitted applications for the upcoming year and votes on what programs will be approved and how much funding they will receive.
This is a rewarding volunteer position. Without the Cultural Council, there are many programs that you see at the Erving Senior/Community Center, the Erving Public Library, the Erving Fall Festival, the Erving Elementary School, and even the Summer Park Program, that cannot happen. Without the Local Cultural Council, the Massachusetts Cultural Council cannot award grant funding for Erving.
